Low-E insulated windows reduce energy consumption by up to 20 percent
May 30, 2017

Whether it’s to reduce our carbon footprint or just save money on heating and cooling bills, many of us do our best to use less energy.

At Lee & Cates, we suggest installing our Low-E insulated windows to help cut down on your energy consumption year-round. These windows help keep cool air in your home during the hot months, and warm air in during the winter months.

With insulated windows, there is space between two panes of glass to help reduce energy loss from inside the home. At Lee & Cates, we use top-quality spacers that fit perfectly between windows to minimize energy loss.

A thin Low-E coating is also applied to insulated windows to reduce the emissivity of glass. This means only minimal amounts of ultraviolet and infrared light are able to pass through the glass while visible light passes through uncompromised. The Low-E coating reflects 98 percent of heat energy, compared to just 12 percent in traditional windows.

Most customers who purchase Low-E windows from Lee & Cates notice up to a 20 percent reduction in energy consumption. They also support the local economy because all Lee & Cates windows are made at our state-of-the-art production facility in Jacksonville, FL.
